Spicy Mango Salsa Recipe

mango salsa

Spicy Mango Salsa is a spicy fruity blend of fresh ingredients and turns any summer evening exciting. Quick and easy to mix up, and goes well with crackers, or any finger food.

Its a seasonal twist to a regular tomato salsa, the sweetness from the mangoes, the spicy hit from red and green chillies is a beautiful marriage of flavours.

I was introduced to mango salsa at Foodhall for the first time, they definitely do justice to the food they create and i was hooked to it for a while. And of course, any good thing we taste, if simple we want to replicate it at home. One should definitely make it till the mango season is on. These go really well with some crispy crackers. I made some wholewheat flax seeds crackers to go with it.

  • 1 ripe mango cut into tiny pieces
  • 1/2 small onion very finely chopped
  • 1/4 small red pepper finely chopped
  • 2 tsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 small spicy green chilly finely chopped
  • 1/2 small red chilly finely chopped
  • 1 big clove of garlic finely grated
  • Juice of 1/4 of a lemon
  • salt to taste

Directions for Mango Salsa

  1. Take a small bowl and add all the above ingredients into it and mix with a spoon very gently for 3-4 times.
  2. Let the mangoes leave some juice but at the same time don’t get all mashed up and remain chunky.
  3. Add the chillies in parts, and adding more if you like it. Enjoy with some store bought lavosh or homemade crackers.
