Health tips may seem boring, but to find the right balance between healthy balance diet, regular workouts and occasional indulgence is the key to a healthy lifestyle. We should learn to understand our body, how it feels after every meal, and small lifestyle changes to have healthy and nutritious everyday food makes it a habit. It took me 3-4 years to understand how bloated i was after large portions of desserts or restaurant food, how even simpler packaged food like curd, bread, and cereal are still packaged food, which needs to be replaced by homemade substitutes.

Trying to cook everything from scratch is a habit fast fading away, something or the other used while cooking a meal comes out of a box, bag or a pouch, yes look at that pasta sauce, that jam, that bread or that cereal, you get that right! A nutritious breakfast jumpstart your metabolism, a key to our good health, our body needs all the calories when we are most active. Try eating breakfast early and fast for 14-16 hours before having breakfast the next morning, giving your digestive system that break helps regulating weight.

Moderation is the key to any healthy diet, knowing that you eat as much as what makes you satisfied, and not stuffed. Don’t think of some food as off-limits, but think small portions. Stop eating before you feel full, its proven that the brain takes some time to process that you are full.

It’s no new news that exercise regulates weight, but to discover how exercise uplifts your mood and boosts your energy. Just 20-30 minutes a day, 5 times a week is not much your body expects from you. If it bores you, try to hook up with a partner who is committed to exercise.

Eat plenty of colourful fruits and vegetables, bulk up on the fibre. Eat good carbs(whole grains, beans, fruits, and veggies), understand bad carbs(white flour, refined sugar, and white rice, stripped of all bran, fiber, and nutrients) and avoid them.Reduce sugar, avoid hidden sugar in all the packed food.
