Fenny Highball

Fenny Highball

Fenny Highball is my hangover from Goa. I had a beautiful time in Goa recently. So here I am, still swinging in the Goan mood, bringing to you a classic Fenny cocktail that I learnt how to make at the Leela Kempinski, Goa a few years ago. It’s a fenny cocktail that cannot go wrong. This is one drink that I have seen many relish over the years during my encounters with Goa and the people there, or even the people who love Goa. Fenny itself is as Indian as it can get, and this cocktail has an added Indian touch to it with the chilly. Hope you’ll enjoy the drink as much as we do.

Ingredients

  • 4 ice cubes
  • 60 ml Fenny
  • A wedge of lemon
  • 120ml Limca
  • 120 ml soda
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 1/2 cm of chilly crushed
  • a sprig of mint

Method

  1. Chill the glass in the freezer for 5 minutes. Once its chilled, dip the rim into a salt container, to salt-rim it.
  2. Fill a highball glass with ice and pour the fenny over it.
  3. Add lime juice, crushed chilli, salt, soda and limca, then stir and garnish with a lime twist and a sprig of mint, if desired.
  4. Didn’t I say this was easy. Yes, the fenny cocktail is now ready.

NOTES

  • Never ever substitute Limca with anything.
